Nanea Collection: My Version

My daughter was given the American Girl doll, Nanea, for Christmas this year.  She has been wanting to add her to her collection for so long and I couldn’t pass up the great deal I found on Mercari.  The majority of our AG dolls are bought second-hand on sites like Mercari, eBay, Poshmark, and others. I will elaborate on that in another post.

Nanea has a beautiful collection of clothing available on AG’s website.  You can also buy many of the pieces through the second-hand sites I mentioned, but they are still quite pricey (especially when you know how to sew!). So, I got to work creating my own collection for her.  I used a mix of patterns from Pixie Faire and Violette Field Threads. These sites are definitely my go-to if I’m not creating something out of my head.

I had so much fun picking out fabrics to use at Joann Fabrics and even up-cycling some clothing from our own closets and favorite thrift stores.  The latter is what I prefer when sewing doll clothes.  I’ll also post more about that in the future.

I stole the idea to package the outfits separately in their own boxes with a photo displaying the contents from Mandi Makes Minis.  Her creativity inspires me and I love when I see a new post from her on Instagram or YouTube.

Can't wait to show how beautiful the collection looks on sweet Nanea (or whatever my daughter may change her name to).
