Beautiful Nanea

Enjoy these photos of Nanea in her new collection.  I just had so much fun whipping these up.

To start, here she is in her new flannel shorty pajamas.  I found the most darling flannel pineapple fabric at Joann Fabrics and snatched it right up.  I was trying to stay within the "Nanea" theme. Nanea is a historical doll from the 1940s in Hawaii, during World War II.  I used the Gracie Doll Pajamas pattern from Violette Field Threads.  It was so fun to use some of my late grandmother's trimming I inherited upon her passing.  It makes me smile.  I had to create a custom eye mask for her to go along with her jammies.  Very fun.

Next up, a traditional dress for more formal events.  I used cotton fabric from Joann Fabric and the Aloha Holoku Dress pattern from Pixie Faire (Forever 18 Inches).  She looks so pretty in this color.  I sewed up until the wee hours of the morning Christmas Eve/Morning finishing this one!  I also purchased a floral stem at Joann to take apart and create the headpiece.

Moving on, a less formal dress.  I found the most perfect shirt at Goodwill to take apart for this dress.  The fabric was excellent, as it was a J. Crew men's shirt.  Great quality fabric and I loved the print so much.  I used the Harper Doll Dress pattern from Violette Field Threads.  I've made one of my daughters this same dress in her size, so I was excited to make a mini version of it.  This dress is so perfect for Nanea!

Lastly, this lovely romper made from a dress my youngest daughter has outgrown.  It is from Target, I believe.  I loved the fabric so much, I couldn't get rid of it.  I'm glad I held on to it for this project!  I used the Cat's Meow Vintage Romper & Dress pattern from Pixie Faire (Forever 18 Inches).  It turned out so lovely.  The cute flower in her hair was also part of the original dress I cut up.  It works out great for a hair pin.

On to the next project!
